She grew up by the sea on the Isle of
Sheppey, at the mouth of the Thames.
After a degree in psychology she
studied documentary photography and
then worked as a freelance
photographer for 12 years. She has
lived near Polperro since 2004 — in a
house shared with buckets and boxes
of beach finds — and is currently
working on a new book.
